Beautiful Beginnings Arts Collective is excited to announce its theme for Carnaval 2026: Cosmic Playground, Unity in Motion

 

Inspired by the liberating creativity of the Afrofuturism movement and the uninhibited power of the games children play, especially in the streets and playgrounds from across the African diaspora. 

​

The past, present and future are linked together by the dreams of the young people playing soccer in the dirt fields of Accra, playing drums they made themselves on the beaches of Cartagena, displaying their art on the streets of Port au Prince and playing handclap games on the schoolyards of the Excelsior, Bayview and West Oakland.

 

This is our Cosmic Playground, Unity in Motion,
Where heroes emerge from grit and devotion.
From the Continent to the Bay
